Sathya at SICA - Hyderabad
Sathya performed for SICA - South Indian Cultural Association, Hyderabad on the 22nd Aug'06 at Rabindra Bharathi a beautiful auditorium with a good number of audience. The team of Sathya on keyboard, Smt Durga Bhavani on violin, Trivandrum Balaji on Mrudhangam and Sri Somayajulu on Ghatam gave the audience a good evening full of music which was evident from the fact that the strength almost remained intact till the end.
SICA had made all efforts to promote this concert and the concert started off with mallari and Sathya then performed Mohana Varnam after which Sri Gananatham on Kanakangi was taken for elaborate kalpana swaras. Deva Deva a Swathi thirunal krithi on Mayamalavagowla was performed with a short alapana and a good crisp swaras. This was followed by Entharo Mahanubhavulu on Sri ragam which moved the audience. Every song received great aplause and this was a great effort of the team which produced these applause.
Krishna Nee begane was followed by Sivasakthi - krithi Srichakra Raja nilaye of GNB's which had elobaration of Ragamand swaram. Chinanchirukiliye and Nagumomo was followed by the main item of the day Vasudevayini on Kalyani as requested by Sri Chakrapani - Secretary SICA. Trivandrum Balaji and Sri Somayajulu performed a crisp thani and exhibited their brilliance as they were doing for the krithis. Sathya rounded off the concert with Brahmamukate, Chennikula nagar - a kavadi Sindhu, Sai bhajan, Jonpuri Thillana and the mangalam.
Sathya was blessed to have Dr Narayana Reddy's presence ( a gnana peeta Awardee) who incidently was the chief guest for the concert of Sri Mandolin Shrinivas when he perfomed for the first time for SICA way back around 30 years ago. It was to be mentioned that Sri Somayajulu was the one who as infmd by him, was accompanying Sri Shrinivas that day. It is indeed a great coincidence and every one present wished Sathya of a great future. This concert oppurtunity has brought in the confidence to Sathya and family and is a feather in Sathya'scap as he has now been recognised for his ability to perform Carnatic on Keyboard.
