A concert in a divine atmosphere for Dindigul Sabah on 27th April'08

A back to back concert always works wonders particularly if the former one becomes a hit. Yes Sathya's concert in Dindigul Sabha on the 27th April'08 came out well with the success of the later days' concert in Chennai. he good thoughts of music continued to flow and this day with Arjun Ganesh for Suriyanarayanan on Mrudhangam and with Venkatasubramaniam and Sowrirajan continued from where they left and presented a wonderful concert. Starting with Charukesi varnam and when he performed Kuria Onrum illai in the middle before the main krithi, as requested by the audience and till teh end with Sathya's medlay the audience were seen applauding and apreciating the team. This town / city famous for "anggingu" film music orchestra gave a surprise with such a wonderful knowledgeable audience present in large numbers. Sathya attempted Enthaneechina in Suddha Dhanyasi and Nine Namithi in SimendraMadhayamam in Misrachappu for the first time and both came out very well. Thanks to rasikapriya yahoo group, from where Sathya learnt these two krithis.

There were senior people who were present with experience of listening to thousands of concertsand when they apreciated the efforts of Sathya, it meant success for his efforts. Also we could see youger generation turning up for this concert. A violin artist after hearing Sathya's Simendramadhyamam raga alalapana wanted him to play Thanam and after the concert he just hugged and blessed him for a great future. VenkataSubramaniam with the silent violin gave an excellent presentation of the raga allapanas and with the kalpanaswaras. Arjun Ganesh on Mrudhangam and Sowrirajan on Ghatam & Morsing enhanced the concert & gave a great thani which drew applause from the audience in the Misrachappu krithi in Simendramadhyamam. As requested by the audience Sathya peformed ragamalika in kalpanaswaram for teh main krithi & includedVarali asone of teh ragas as preferred by Venkatasubramaniam - violin artist. Concert at Home away from Home at SathGuru Sath Sangam, Villiwakkam 15 Apr'08

Sri SathGuru Sath Sangam is almost a home territory and the venue - Rajaji Nagar Play Ground, is indeed a special place for Sathya. It was here his Korg Pro for the first time when he was performing had some power problems, like god sent a brand new keyboard which was just bought by his well wisher Sri Akyilesh was also there in the car and came handy. Sathya opened up the new instrument found out his requirements and performed a great concert!

This day - 15th April'08, it was in the same venue, how ever with no such incidents, the concert came out well with Villiwakkam Raghuraman on Violin, Thiullaisthanam Suriyanarayanan on the Mrudhangam and HariharaSubramanian on the Ghatam & Morsing. Suri was not well, infact vomited just before the concert, but was not seen like that while performing as it was one of his best days asusual. He was enjoying the two new attempts of Sathya namely, Entha Muddho in Bindhumalini and MokshamuGaladha in Saramathy. Raghuraman was giving additionalflavour with his best coming out on the home ground. Hari was good in both the instrument he handled and will come good if he practices Morsing with little more seriousness.

Concert at Home - Sringari Saradhambal Tempel 14 April, 2008

It was a concert we, as family were looking for as it is always a great pleasure to be in your home. Yes Krupasankari Street is the home of Sathya and performing a concert in the Temple in the same street is indeed a remarkable achievement! Thanks to the krupa of Goddess Saradambal and the Guruji Sri Ramakrishnan.

We were so happy to perform at Sringeri Sharadhambal Temple Trust premises at Krupasankari street on the 14th Apri'08 not just being Ramanavami day but because it was in the same street Sathya made public appearance for the Independence Day celebrations for the street association in 1999. It was a proud moment and the team excelled one another. A Pleasant presentation on 12th Apr'08 at Venkateswara Samajam

It was indeed a pleasant and sowkkia presentation of a concert by the team of Sathya with Ananthakrishnan on violin, Thillaisthanam Suriyanarayanan on Mrudhangam and Chandrasekarasharma on the Ghatam at the Sri Venkateswara Samajam, Perumbur on the 12th Apri'08. The entire concert was of apt tempo and also the ambience was so good the artists felt at easy and think the best came out from every body.

Starting off with Lalgudi sir's Varnam on Charukesi - Innum manam, a request made by Suri on the 7th to Sathya on their return trip form Coimbatore, Sathya listened to Sri Maharajapuram Santhanam track and played it to the best satisfaction of Suri. Infact this set the mood for the entire concert and the rest was indeed a treat to hear. The violin tonal quality was of very high standard and so was Ananthakrishnan's alapanas and kalpanaswaras during the concert. The fact that he realised the change of srtuthi from 2 [D]1 to one and half [C sharp] in the last minute [due to a miscommunication] and adopting to the changed sruthi and performing was indeed a great effort.

Sathya elaborated shanmugapriya and Hindolam for the day and also presented Dikshidhar's krithi Diwakaradhanujam - Yathuklulakombthi, being a Saturday and this was appreciated very much by the entire knowledgeable audience present.The apt krithi Ramanee Samanamevaru in karaharapriya with a good alapana was indeed a highlight from Sathya & Ananthakrishnan. The krithi Ramanukku Mannamudi which had a elaborate alapana and in the kalpanaswaram Sathya played Hamsadwani and Abogi. During the aruthi his presentation of same in three different ragas won the hearts of many. Akilandeswari in Dwajavanthi was presented as per a request of a rasika from Orkut and Sathya summed up the concert with Raghupathy Ragava Rajaram which made every one join during the namavali. A concert which will linger in the minds a long time also for the fact that we could not record it thru line in but only a mic recording which we are presenting it in the following link: www.sangeethamshare.org/sathya and is listed under serial no. 011

Puthandu Nalvazhthukkal and hope to see many on the 14th April'08 - Ramnavami day at the Sringari Saradhambal Temple - a home ground for Sathya as he started playing when he was a resident of the street & his first public presentation started for the Independence day celebrations of the street association way back in 1999!

A concert reviewed on the spot - 11 April, 2008

It was for the first time Sathya was performing at Sri Sidhivinayagar Mahalakshmi Temple in Srinagar Colony, Saidapet, Chennai and started off with black out due to no power supply. When the power was restored the audience who showed patience and the artists got energetic and the team of Sathya with Devanathan on Violin, M.R. Srikrishnan on Mrudhangam and Hariharasubramanian on Ghatam & morsing gave a good performance as per the song list below.

Mr Srinivasan, Secretary, Srinagar Colony Sathsangam gave an on the spot review of the concert after the thani on the krithi Vinayakuni on Madhyamavathi and i give below his impressions which was as follows:

"Sathya gave an excellent exhibition of handling the western instrument to bring out the nuances of our Carntic music and special mention is to be made for the raga alapana of Mohanam, Begada and Madhyamavathi. His kalpanaswaras and his krithi rendention were equally good. However when going on the higher octave i found the gamakas missing and it could be due to various reasons. I would like Sathya to explore more in this area and keep learning more & more krithis, do sadhagam and i am sure as he matures by age his music also will keep developing. As it is what he presented is beyond ones imagination considering his age. I wish him all the very best to get to greater recognition for him.

Devanathan on violin is indeed a great prospect for the future. His alapana rendering of Mohanam was of real high quality. Special mention for the way he took up with Sathya in the ragamalika kalpanaswara on Kalyani and Charukesi with Madhyamavathi and they gave a real treat to all of us. While he did show few deviation in Begada, i am sure he will become a star in the future.

M.R. Srikrishnan's Mrudhangam was indeed superb and is clear that he has done "asura Sadhagam" which his evident in his performance today. The thrikalam he performed on the aruthi with command was the proof of his hard work. I only suggest that if he can be little more softer in certain areas mainly during the krithis it would be even more ideal.

Hariharasubramanian was excellent in his following the Mrudhangam artist on Ghatam and his efforts on Morsing is also appreciated. Both of them gave us a good thani and i bless the artists on stage for a great future."

Mrs Shanthi Gopalakrishan, a rasika who was one of the almost entire audience who stayed back wrote her comments in Sathya diary which says"We were all emotionally touched. 7th std student performing like this - 100 million dollar Question!!!

Concert at Sivam - Hyderabad

It was a wonderful experience this time once again to Hyderabad, now for a concert at "Sivam". Sathya was given a team of Sri Rajesh on violin, Sri Somayajulu on Mrudhangam and his sishya on ghatam. This concert was all of audience request and popular krithis more with bhajans as it was at the Sai Mandhir - SIVAM. It was a divine atmosphere and Sathya had the best of the blessings when he felt the almighty himself in the face of Sri Somayajulu while performing!
