It is always festival time once Pillaiar Chathurthi is celebrated and Navarathiri is one good festival which involves one and all at home! Yes. For artists it is time they are made to rehearse for the busy December to follow with concerts almost everyday - in particular lady vocal musicians. For Sathya it has been good with concerts on the 12th , 13th, 15th and on 17th of this month at Sri VedaVyasar Tabovanam - Tambaram, Kanchi Sankara Math- West Mambalam, Sri Lakshmi Balaji Temple - Pallikaranai and a Restaurant opening function - Egmore respectively on the above dates. Here is the details of the concert performed on the 12th October, 2010 at Tambaram.
It was a concert oppurtunity which came on the last minute and Sathya has been blessed to perform here with the Grace of Almighty and the blessings of Guruji Sri Kasi Vishwanathar. t was also nice of Sri Kovai Chandran (Violin artists) and Sri Neyveli Ganesh (Mrudhangam artiste) to have enhanced this concert with Sri Sivaramakarishnan on the Ghatam.
The highlight was the sum up / felicitation speech by Dr. Lakshmi - Director of the Music institution run by Sri Vedha Vyasar Tabovanam, with Doctrate in Music from Kerala University to have analysed the concert and appreciated Sathya's efforts especially in the Suriti raga sketches and in the tempo maintained in the krithi Angaragan set to Rupaka thalam in Vilamba kalam (retta kalai). She was all praise for his efforts in bringing out teh nuances and mentioned that it was equal to a vocal concert - a great credit - as she explained that the tone from the instrument could almost bring out the words because of teh abitlity to handle the instrument and bringing the raga swarupa & bhavam in the krithi.
