Teamed up with Sherthalai Shivkumar on violin and Layapriya Sri. Papanasam kumar on Mrudhangam, Sathya started the concert with Prof. Sambamurthy's Asta ragamalika Varnam which was appreciated by both the enhancement artists as this is one of the rare to be performed on stage. Then he took up Siddhivinayakam in Mohanakalyani with the right speed and travelled through his journey in the raga with kalapanaswarams. On to Saveri, he performed a good sketch of alapana and took up Syama Sastri's Sankari Sanguru which is probably one of the trademark for this raga. Taking up Narayana Theerthar's Charanam Bhava in Hamsavinodhini preferred to kalpanaswaram after showing up a outline of the raga sketch. Achuthadaasan's Bahudhari krithi Sadananda Thandavam was the next and the was presented in the apt kaalam.
Taking up Tyagarajar's Sasivadana Chandrajyoti as the main krithi for the day, Sathya presented a good raga elobarated the alaapana which was well presented also by Sri. Shivkumar on his turn on violin. The krithi was taken in the right speed and Sathya presented kalpanaswaram in keezhkalam and then on melkalam. It was indeed a delight to listen to this team's performance which was very well noticed in the audience's reaction with a loud applause! Layapriyan - perfect to this title Sri. Papanasam was enjoying the entire concert with different prayogams for Sathya and Sri. Shivkumar and ensured that the absence of upa pakkavadhyam was not felt. He presented an excellent thani avarthanam and Sathya continued to present Gopalakrishna Bharathi's ragamalika krithi "Aiye Methakadinam". Lalgudi's Pahadi raga Thillana in Misrachapu was taken up the penultimate piece for the concert before the Mangalam and the team had presented a concert not only to their satisfaction but also enthralled the audience with good coordination among them.

June 05, 2012 concert at Maha Periyava's Padhugai Temple
A concert Sathya would probably remember for ever! Yes Sathya loves to perform here and this has become a concert he will never forget!
Sathya attempts to present newly learnt krithis here and this day happened to be a different order! Sathya started the concert with Varanamukava in Hamsadwani and as started the raga alapana for Manasa Sriramunidhaya, originaly in Mararanjani ragam. As he travelled through the raga he touched on the swara Ga 1 instead of Ga 2, Gandharam of Jangaradhwani instead of Mararanjani. Karaikal Venkatasubramanian also followed Sathya and completed the alapana in the same way during his turn.
When Sathya started the krithi, Venkat realized this and was trying to tell Sathya but Sathya with confidence was playing the krithi with Ga1 (Komala Gandharam or popularly known as Chinna Ga) prayogam instead of Ga 2 (Dheevra Gandharam or periya Ga)! After the song was performed Adyar D. Balasubramnai, a Nadaswara Vidwan and our faculty in KBS Inculcation, praised Sathya presenting Jangaradhwani ragam and on ly then Sathya realized the mistake committed!
Purely with the blessings of Maha Periyava he had at the least struck to a frame work of scale and it also happened to be scale of this Melakartha Ragam. He also attempted to perform krithis in Rishabapriya - MhimatakkincikO, Pesum Deivam Murugan in Nagavalli and Subbraya Sastri's Sri Kamakshi in Vasantha for the first time and all these did not have any issues! This was actually the combination we tried when we performed here first and we would sincerely call it a Miracle and thank Periyava for the great blessings as this will be in our minds for ever!
Special mention on Kumbakonam Swaminathan's Thani Avarthanam which was excellent and we are happy to share on this day June 15, 2012 that he is now Grade A artiste of AIR! Congrats!
"Hara hara Sankara Jaya jaya Sankara"
The song list presented is as follows:
01. Varanamukava - Hamsadwani - Rupakam - Koteeswara Iyer (S)
02. Manasa Sriramunidhya - Jangaradhwani - Adi - Tyagaraja (R)

Our sincere condolence to the family, near and dears of Dr. T. P. Naidoo, who was founder Chairman of Indian Academy, Durban South Africa who left us all in Durban at 10 am local time.
Dr. T. P. Naidoo is a strong in ethics and lived with values and humbleness. He has been instrumental in conducting St. Tyagaraja Festival for many years and has been inviting artists from India and has honoured many leading musicians namely, Sri. T. N. Seshagopalan, Smt. Sudha Raghunathan and the legendary Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna.
We as family are indebted to his encouragement and guidance and will miss him for ever! It was Indian Academy under his Chairmanship along with his daughter Smt. Vasantha Naidoo, Director Indian Academy, SA which gave Sathya the essential breakthrough in life with the biggest opportunity and recognition at his tender age of 8!
Dr. T. P. Naidoo is a great social scholar and a great orator. He is respected very much in the Indian community of South Africa and worked for their welfare! We as family cannot express our sadness on hearing this news and shall pray for his Soul to rest in Peace!
We still remember the announcement he made in the local Durban, SA during the Tyagaraja Festival day in 2003 saying, "We in South Africa are proud to have given Gandhi to India and now we are equally proud to have unearthed & recognized the talents of a Child Prodigy Musician Sathya". What a great thought and blessing for Sathya!
Hope Sathya lives up to his words and become a complete Musician and more importantly a good Human!

Concert on January 24, 2012 for Sarvani Sangeetha Sabha - Music Academy Mini Hall.
A concert for this forum presented after almost 4 - 5 years and it was indeed a nice feeling to see a good turn out of audience in spite of the fact that it was a concert from 5pm on a working day. This also show the growing support for the instrument keyboard to presented in Carnatic forums.
Sathya teamed up with Sri. B. Ananthakrishnan on violin, Sri. Thillasthanm R. Suriyanarayanan on Mrudhangam and Sri Valangaiman Hariharasubramanian on Ghatam and it was a presentation much to the satisfaction of the people on and in front of the stage.

As soon as he was about to finish the third krithi, the organisers who were near the stage asked Sathya to perform one more krithi and Sathya presented Buntureethikolu in Hamsanadham in a brisk pace and concluded the concert.
