Sathya performed on the 2nd day of the 2nd Anniversary of "Anusham Chamber Concert Series" conducted by Veenai Vidwan Sri Rajesh Vaidhya at Sri Ramakrishna Kalyanamandapam, # 18 Rajunaicken Street, West Mambalam, Chennai - 33 from 27 - 30th July 2006.
It is to be mentioned that Sri Rajesh Vaidhya and team has put up a grand show for this event with many programmes for the four day function. The most interesting of all is the Photo Exhibition of rare photos of Periyava - a collection of Sri Photo Kannan which is excellent. This video links shows the rare photos and the mohana varnam performed. http://tinyurl.com/ncpgy
Sathya today started off with Mohana Varnam doing 3 kalams in one avarthanam i.e. Madhyama kalam, thisra kizhkalam followed by Thisra melkalam in two speeds for pallavi and anupallavi follwed by madhaymakalam for charanam. It is to be mentioned here that this style of playing mohana varanm was taught by Annathakrishnan to Sathya and this was the first time they performed this piece together. He then went on to perform Sri Gananatham a Kanakangi keerthana with crisp kalpana swara prayogams well matched by Anathakrishnan on violin, Suriyaranarayanan on mrudhangam and Chandrasekara Sharma on ghatam.
Third song was Thaye thripura sundari on ragam Suddha Saveri set to Kanda Chaapu. Oothukadu Venkatakavi's Balasaramurali on keeravani followed with brief alapana with the essence of the raga by the both Sathya and Anathakrishna. GNB's composition Sri Chakra raja nilaye on Sivasakthi presented by the team carried great applause from the audience and so was Mythrim Bajatha - a composition of Periyava. Sathya went on to elobarate ragam Madhyamavathi which was presented well by Anathakrishnan also for the krithi Palinchu Kamatchi. It had a brisk paced kalpana swaram and due to the shortage of time the percusion utilised every oppurtunity prevailed in the krithis to showcase their talents while making sure they did not disturb the main artist.
Sathya rounded off the concert with Thamburi meetidharo, Srichakraraja Simhasaneswari (thanks to raikapriya.net members) and Lalgudi sir's thillana on ragam Jonpuri. Sathya felt very much the ashirvadhams of Periyava in the form great appriciation form the knowledgeble audience present.

Sri Ram Mohan Sastry, Founder Sarada Fine Arts, Bapatla who had known about Sathya decided top hold concert at Bapatla on the 23rd July'06 and also organised a concert at Guntur thru Gayathri Mahila Sangeetha Samandali.

It has to mentioned here that Sathya and his team were hosted to the best in this small team and Sathya enjoyed visitng the 2nd Century AD built temple, Sri Bhavana Venkateswara Temple and drinking Cold Badam Milk at a small corner shop located at the Tower Clock corner.

The same team of Smt Durga Bhavani on violin, Suriyanarayanan on mrudhangam and Harihara Subramaniam on ghatam performed today the following numbers most of which were audience request. Mr and Mrs Sastry travelled with the team to Guntur the earlier day and they were discussing about of Amridhavarshini and its impacts in the form of rain. Mr Sastry jokingly said to Sathya to play Amruthavarshini as he wanted Bapatla to get rain as they were going thru' hot climate.

Sathya performed Vasudevayini, a krithi on Kalyani as the main item and suddenly remembered the mention of Amrudhavarshini and decided to do a swara raga mlika with Amrudhavarshini, Charukesi, Sivasakthi and Vanaspathi. Mr & Mrs Sastry were there at the tation to see off the team and to every one's surprise it started rainning around 1130 pm in Babpatla and the team had to take a covered shelter while waiting for thetrain to Chennai. Mr Sastry metnioned that it was indeed god's reaction to the discussion they had the earlier day on the raga. A video link of Kalyani raga alapana http://tinyurl.com/quyk8

The concert was co-ordinated thanks to Mr Sastry, Founder, Sarada Fine Arts Academy, Bapatla.
While he was performing his main item for the day, Nagumomu on Aberi as per the request of the audience and just before the start of charanam rain started pouring and the concert had to
end abruptly being on the open grounds. A video link of the song Varavallaba http://tinyurl.com/hd54e

Sathya having a roll as singer inthe movie 'Sadhanai' tamil version of C/o Foot Path

13th Jun'06 is an eventful day for Sathya and his family as he sung a song for the movie 'Sadhanai' a remake of C/o Footpath, a movie directed by 10 year old Kishen, probably world's youngest film director. It is interesting to note that Kishen's uncle Dr Ravi Dattatreya is the music director for this film and he was the person who had on seeing Sathya's website www.keyboardsathya.com presented Sathya with his own Trinity Korg Pro keyboard with which Sathya is performing his concerts.
The information about the movie was known to Sathya and family only after Sathya had almost finished singing the song given to him and on knowing this fact the family was thrilled to have been a part of this history making movie with Sathya as a singer.
