First for Sathya & 51st for Nilgiri Cultural Association, 28th Sep'06





It was indeed a tour of debut concert. Yes after the first full length carnatic concert in coimbatore Sathya performed for the first time in at Coonoor under the auspicious of Nilgiri Cultural Association. The concert was held at The Provident's College of Women and NCA had made elaborate arrangemetns for this 51st concert of NCA with special invites made under the title "Innovative India". Sathya's innovation on keyboard to perform to perform classical, Devotional, Film and wetern numbers was explored and he did with great ease without spoilling the entity of each nature of music.

The auditorium was full from the start and Sathya was blessed by all the speakers Mr Sundar - President NCA, Dr Ramesh - Director Hill Queen Group of companies, Sis Anthu Mary - Principal Providents College for women and the chief Guest Sri T V Christy - Principal CSI College of Engineering. Mr Sundar blessed and wished to achieve all the awards and laurels possible and thanks to NCA which had provided Sathya with such a great audience in good numbers.
Having known that 28th Sep was the birthday of Sri Sundar - NCA President, Sathya presented a cd and also started off the concert with Happy Birthday tune on his keyboar. He then went on to present a variety of carnatic, film, western and light classical songs and every song was welcomed well by the audience with great applause.
It was also for the time that Sathya was starting off a meeting by lighting the lamp and it has become a tour of debut performance for Sathya.

Sathya in Coimbatore with Gopi Mama - 27th Sep'06






Sathya was blessed to be invited by Sri Gopi mama of Coimbatore to perform at Sri Kamatchi Amman Tempole, R S Puram, Coimbatore on the 27th Sep'06. It was Sathya's first full length Carnatic concert in Coimbatore and was received well by the audience. Sathya and his team of B Ananthakrishnan on violin, Thillaisthanam Suriyanarayanan on Mrudhangam and Harihara Subramaniam on Ghatam enjoyed and were of the impression that Gopi Mama was at his best and that none can be a more better host than him.

Sathya started off the concert with a adi thala mallari & followed same with Sahana Varnam and Sri Gananatham in Kanakangi. Sathya played the krithi in an apt speed and gave a good presentation in the kalpanaswara which was matched by Ananthakrishnan, Suri and Hari. This also set the tone for the remainder off the concert.

Sathya then played Thaye Thripurasundari - Sudhasaveri and then a elaborate alapana in Poorvi Kalyani for Meenakshi and also played niraval & kalpanaswaram at Madthurapurinilaye. China natana in Kalanidhi was performed to the liking of Gopi Mama who really enjoyed which was seen with his body language. Krishna nee Begane was followed by Devi neeye thinai in Keeravani. Sathya excelled himself in the alapana of Bhairavi for the Shyama Sastrigal's swarajathi Kamatchi. It did not look like it was plyed for the first time as announced and this was followed by Marugelara and a elaborate alapana in Madhyamavathi for Palinchu Kamatchi. Sathya made swararagamalika for this krithi and everyone enjoyed the presentation of the concert which had all the nuances of carnatic in this western instrument. The thani avarthanam was played with great care and it made an impact with the audence as it received great applause.

Sathya rounded off with few familiar numbers namely Tahumburu meetidharu - Sindhubhairavi, Madhavamamava - Neelambari, Mythrim bajathe, Jagajanai and ended up with a thillana. The success of the concert was seen with the fact that Sathya has been invited by the temple authorities to perform on the Deepavali day 22nd Oct for Sashti and Sathya is very happy to go back to Coimbatore for he knows he is in the hands of one the best hosts he has ever seen.

At the Launch of Hello FM 106.4 - 24th Sep'06


Sathya performed at the launch function of Hello FM 106.4 held at The Park Sheraton, Chennai on the 24th Sep’06. It was indeed remarkable of Sathya in handling two different kinds of presentation within a gap of an hour or two. He was also successful in getting appreciation from two different sets of audience not just because of his age but for his great ability of proper presentation.

Yes after playing at the temple forum of Sri Sai Baba’s Sundaram, Sathya performed with the team of Paul Jacob on Bass guitar, Donnan Murray on Lead Guitar and Balu on the Mrudhangam at the Park Sheraton for the launch function. The team gave a presentation of Carnatic songs without crossing the so called rules and regulation or the nuances of Carnatic but mixing the tones of the guitar to that of the Carnatic classical numbers of Raja Raja in Nirosta, Niravathisukatha in Ravichandrika and a Kavadi Sindhu. Every one who was there for the function appreciated the team efforts and in particular Sathya for his great adaptability to perform in different conditions

Sathya at Sundaram, Sri Saibaba's Temple, Chennai - 24th Sep'06




Sathya was blessed with an opportunity to perform at Sundaram, Sai Temple in R A Puram, Chennai on the 24th Sep’06 with Sri Villiwakkam Raghuraman on violin and Sri Nanganallur Ravishankar on the Mrudhangam. It was indeed a great experience and blessing for Sathya who performed a good 1 hour concert with his team & the same was well appreciated by a full house audience.

Sri Raghuraman and Ravishankar excelled in their part and the trio’s presentation was very good and looked as if they had played together as team for many concerts. However it was for the first time they teamed up and with the grace of Sathya Sai the presentation came very good.

Sathya at Villiwakkam for Sathguru Sath Sangam – 23rd Sep’06



Sathya performed for Sathguru Sath Sangam, Villiwakkam who had arranged concerts for the Navarathri Festival’06 at the James Kalyana Mandapam, in Rajaji Nagar, Villiwakkam. He was accompanied by Sri Raghuraman on the violin and Sri Calcutta Karthick on the Mrudhangam.

Sathya started off the concert with a varnam on the raga Mohanam and set the pace for the evening with a crisp Vathapi, with second speed kalpanaswaram. Calcutta Karthick who shared stage with for the first time gave excellent support and enhanced the show with his Great School of Guru Sri Umayalpuram Sivaraman’s pani. Sathya presented more of familiar numbers as he was performing with a new set of audience and the details as follows:

Sri Muralidharan President of the Sathguru Sath Sangam praised Sathya for his excellent performance and the ease with which he is handling his instrument. He also showered praise on Sri Raghuraman on violin for presenting good alapanas & kalpanaswarams and Sri Karthick on Mrudhangam who gave a crisp & brief thani. Sri Sambhamoorthy, Secy Rajaji Nagar Welfare Association lauding Sathya for a great performance insisted to ensure his peformance next year during thier Rama Navami celebrations.

In all the audience enjoyed the concert with a presentation of the team to their liking. Special mention is to be made for the good audio system from Sri Balaji.

Delhi Tamil Sangam felicitates Mr Ramji, Secy Music Academy during Sathya's Concert


Sathya performed in Delhi for the 3rd time and this time for Delhi Tamil Sangam, thanks to Sri Thirunavukarasu, M.P, Sri T Narayanan Karunya and Sri Mukunthan Secy, Delhi Tamil Sangam. Sri Ramji, Secy Music Academy was the chief guest for the concert and he was felicitated by Sri Krishnamani, President - Delhi Tamil Sangam. Sathya was blessed with his audience for more than an hour.

Sathya started the concert with a varnam of Sri Tiger's composition 'Anname' in ragam Arabi and presented a brisk Vathapi Ganapathim in Hamsadwani as requested by the organisers. The team of B Ananthakrishnan on violin, Trivandrum Balaji on Mrudhangam and Hariharasubramaniam on the ghatam along with Sathya gave a great presentation of speed and clarity in the kalpanaswaram.

Sathya then performed Bharathiyar's Chinanchirukiliye followed by Muruga Muruga on ragam Saveri set to Misra Chaapu thalam. The he performed Entharo Mahanubavulo and Chinna Natana on ragam - Kalanidhi which he attempted for the first time on stage. The next was Vasanthamullai, a request from the audience followed by a western piece based on Nata Bhairavi for which a free hand was given to the enhancement artists and they followed it with great care. This was followed by alapana on Abogi for Sabapathiku and both Sathya & Ananthakrishnan excelled in bringing out the best out of them.
After playing Alaipayudhey Sathya went on for an elaborate raga alapana for Keerwani for the krithi "Devi Neeye Thunai" with swararagamalika with Srothaswani, Rasikapriya & Mohanam and this kriti was a request from one of the audience. Trivandrum Balaji and Harihara Subramaniam exhibited their laya gnana with a good thani complementing each others talents and getting a great round of applause from the knowledgeble rasikas present. Mr Premkumar who is a Mrudhangam teacher in the Delhi Tamil Sangam was seen very happy when Sathya performed a devotional song 'Marudhamalai Mamuneye Murugaiya". He then went on to play numbers like Enna thavam, Venkatachalanilayam, Kurai onrum Illai and Kavadi sindhu which were sent as requests in slips from the rasikas.

Sathya concluded the concert performing a Jonpuri Thillana of Sri Lagudi Jayaraman followed by the mangalam. The organisers praised the talents of Sathya and the team work of the artists and Sathya can definetly look forward to another concert for Delhi Tamil Sangam next year.

Sathya in 10th Aniversary celebrations of Chennai On Line.com

Sathya had a great oppurtunity to be involved with the 10th aniversary celebrations of Chennai online.com a leading emedia. He performed a mix of classical, film and western numbers.

Almost 4 years ago Sathya was interviewed by Srivatsav of Chennai on line and was featured in their site and today Sathya was entertaining the entire staff and their family members during their aniversary celebrations.

Sathya on the 31st August, 2006 performed with a new team of Sri Mannargudi Srinivasan on violin, Melakaveri Balaji on Mrudhangam and Sri EM Subramaniam on ghatam for a private concert. This was held at Hotel Kanchi and it was a succesful concert in terms of reach to the audience as many of them had stayed for almost entire concert, taking brakes for taking dinner.
