Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha, Bheemavaram - 02 Nov'07
This was a concert of a great achievement for Sathya as he received almost more than Rs 1000/- in cash from the audience as gift which was handed over to him after the thani. The special mention was the ragamalika kalpanaswaram Sathya and Rajeev on Violin performed for the krithi Marubalka on Sriranjani. Sathya took up 8 ragas - Charukesi, Hamsanadham, Hamsadwani, Brindhavana Saranga, Kalyani, Keeravani and Mohanam apart from Sriranjani and elaborated swarams on each raga. Later he completed the aruthi with phrases of all the ragas and this indeed was the highlight of the concert. It was also the first attempt and Rajeev did a great presentation of his skills too in this.
Being student of Kalaimamani Kum. A. Kanyakumari were happy to present the daughter of Bheevaram's own composition - a Thillana on ragam Sindhu Bhairavi to end the concert. The audience turn out was really great and made us think why we are unable to see this kind of turn out in our centers. Sri Rangasi, the PR person for the sabha was so much impressed on seeing Sathya play and practice in the morning, coordinated with the famous D.N.R. Arts College were Sathya was felicitated in the presence of a large audience of students, teachers and the Top officials of the College including the Principal. It was indeed a unscheduled programme and it was just the Almighty's grace Sathya got this honor. Sathya performing utsavasambradhayakrithis with different ragas and thalas was much appreciated too.
Thillaisthanam Sri R. Suriyanarayanan (recently was conferred as Asthana Vidwan of Sri Kanchi Muth) was at his best throughout. His presentation looked as if he is always at his best when he performs for Sathya. Yuvakalabharathi Sri J. Sowrirajan showed his prowess on Kanjeera, Ghatam, Morsing & Konnakol and excelled in all the departments. The thani avardhanam attracted special applause. The team also stole the audience's heart with their presentation of Ramanamavali to finish the concert which made every one participate by singing along.
