Thanks to Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru - Sathya in big posters all over the city

After the POGO promotions which featured in huge hoardings, now it is time for us, the family of Sathya to thank every one involved in "Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaru." Yes. They have given huge posters for Sathya with a title "ILAN THENDRAL" and one can see these posters every where in the city.

The greatness is this type of poster has been made for all artists irrespective of the time slot they are featuring in this festival. Kudos to the team and may be next year they should also try to focus attention along with the enhancement artist. May be a picture have all the artist for that session would be a great boost for all the artist performing on stage.
In the days where the accompanying artists names does not find place in many advertisements on a daily basis, this probably is too much for the asking but i think they should give a thought as it is just the team work which ultimately stands winner in any concert.

Sathya for first time in Kapali Fine Arts

Sathya got the oppurtunity to perform for Sri Kapali Fine Arts at for the first only this December season and it was held at Srinivas Sastry Hall. Incidentally the hall from where his carnatic music journey started on the 9th December, 2001. Karaikal Venkatasubramaniam and Delhi Raja Subramaniam where his team members and it was a pleasant concert on the whole.
Sathya took up SAhana Varnam as the first number followed by Sri Gananatham in Kanakangi with a great speed. While it was good to hear this krithi as rarely rendered, may be he should check the speed so that it could be even more pleasing. He did a brief alapana for SAraswathi with the krithi Saraswathi followed by Thyagaraja's Siva Siva on ragam Bandhuvarali in which he made an elobarate kalpana swaras. Karaikal Venkatasubramaniam matched every phrase.
Muruga Muruga on Saveri was taken in the correct kalapramanam and was really soothing to the ears with Sathya trying to give the nuances of this raga clearly. The next one was Marugelara on Jayanthasri and an RTP was rendered in the ragam Keeravani set to Kandajathi Thruputa thalam for which both Sathya and Venkatasubramaniam gave a good alapana. (Sathya sang the phrase MAL MARUGANAI MURUGANAI PANI MANAME GANAME DHINAME NINAINDHIDU before performing on the instrument after the thanam) The thanam was well rendered and audiance appricited the remarkable improvement to the one that he had performed last year.
Sathya gave a taste of Kalayani and Kaapi with swara ragamalika and Raja Subramaniam played a crisp thani. With Radhasamedha Krishna followed by Chinnanchiru kiliye (rasika's choice) Sathya completed the concert with a Sai bhajan. The audience wanted him to render few more songs and Sathya had requested them to come to his next concert for hearing same as he had to give the stage at 4pm.
The response in terms of attendance was very good considering the time slot of 2 - 4pm. Sathya is looking forward to greater support in the days to come.

Many of the rasikas who had attended Sathya’s concert at Sri Karaneeswarar Temple, Saidepet appreciated the krithi Diwakaram in Yadhukula Kambhodhi here as they felt it had its additional modulation than what he played there on the 18th Nov’06. Special mention and appreciation from the audience came for the alapana of Bandhuvarali and Kaapi apart from the kalpanaswara prayogams, particularly the kanakus he performed during the main krithi Inthasowkyamu in Kaapi.

Thyagarajar krithi Nadha dhanumanusham on Chithranjani & Lalgudi’s thillana on ragam Paras which were taken up by Sathya for the first time also received well by the audience. The song details performed are mentioned here under:
