Recognition for Keyboard in Bhajans at Tambras Bhajan Competition

It was indeed nice to see Keyboard being used extensively in many forms of music and in particualr - Bhanjans too. Yes in the competition held yesterday 10th Aug'08 at Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Adyar, Chennai by TAMBRAS - Mandavali unit for the 17th Year, Judges made a special mention of the effective usage of Keyboard by Sai Krishnan and Harikrishnan (one of them played Tabla). It is indeed a sort of recognition this instrument is slowly getting and we are sure this will be accepted by one and all in very few years to come.

Sathya had the oppurtunity to be with his School Team being awarded the "Pride of Honour Award" and here is the link for the photos. Above is the clippings on video of the performance.

I am your classmate Srinidhi's mother. I read your blog recognition for keyboard in bhajans.

It is not only recognition for keyboard in Bhajan competition but also a must in Bhajan competition. Infact it was quoted as a minus point for our school for not using the keyboard in Suprabatha sabha competition due to which our school got the fifth prize. Though the children performed well, the judges said without the key board, the performance was not GOOD.

I realised it when the same songs when sung with keyboard at Tambras were very good. Everybody including Mr Rajesh Vaidhya who attended the function was enjoying the bhajan.

Good luck
