It is indeed fascinating to see the other side of Mrudhangam Maestro Kalaimamani Sri Guruvayur Doraii avl as a composer and also a great singer.
Yes he has concerned to guide a group of young vidwans - Jai krishnan on vocal, Sathyanarayanan - keyboard, Sruthi Sagar - flute, Vijay - Violin, the reverbarating Tanjore K Praveen Kumar on the mrudhangam who incidently is the sishya of Sri Durai avl, Anirudh - Kanjeera, and HariharaSubranmaniam - Ghatam. Praveen's parents are the ones behind this effort and this group is to be called as "Laya Guruthvam" - ashirvadams from the Laya Maestro to the children of music in general.
